H-GEAR (High performance – Galileo Emergency Anti-theft and Rescue) is an innovative Galileo-based eCall and anti-theft system for small and medium-displacement motorcycles. The system consists of a device fully integrated into the motorcycle’s frame or electrical system, a software suite for monitoring and controlling the eCall and anti-theft services, and a mobile application for end-user interaction. The Galileo navigation system offers high performance in terms of accuracy, reliability, rapid acquisition and tracking, and service continuity for a secure, real-time application, such as eCall. Integration into the vehicle’s frame or electrical system represents an innovation in terms of both battery performance and the antenna, which must operate in a stressful environment due to vibrations and in any position of the motorcycle (due to accidents). H-GEAR aims to fill the gap in the offering of eCall and anti-theft services for small and medium-displacement motorcycles.
